The maximum age limit is 24 years (relaxation is given to reserved categories).
For B.FTech, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
There is no specific age limit for postgraduate applicants.
The NIFT Entrance Exam is structured to test different abilities depending on the program.
Creative Ability Test (CAT): Evaluates creativity, imagination, and design ability.
General Ability Test (GAT): Tests English, Communication, Analytical Ability, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs.
Only the General Ability Test (GAT) is conducted.
It focuses on Quantitative Ability, Communication, Analytical and Logical Ability, GK, and English comprehension.
For B.Des candidates, after clearing CAT and GAT, a Situation Test is conducted where candidates create models with given materials to showcase their innovation and material handling skills.
For PG programs, shortlisted candidates face a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) to assess managerial and leadership qualities.
While there is no fixed syllabus, the focus areas are clear:
