  • IIT Bombay has officially launched the application process for the national-level entrance exam UCEED 2026 — aimed at admission into 4-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programmes at several IITs and IIITDM Jabalpur.

Exam Structure & Important Dates

Format at a glance

  • UCEED 2026 will be held on 18 January 2026 (Sunday) in the time slot 9 am to 12 noon.
  • The question paper carries 300 marks and consists of two parts:
    • Part A (200 marks, 2 hours): Computer-based test covering visualisation, spatial reasoning, observation, design-sensitivity, environment & society, analytical & logical reasoning, language & creativity.
    • Part B (100 marks, 1 hour): Drawing/design aptitude; written/drawn answers in the answer booklet.

Eligibility & Registration

  • Applicants must be born on or after 1 October 2001; relaxed to 1 October 1996 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  • Eligible to attempt a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years.
  • Students from all streams (Science, Commerce, Arts & Humanities) who appeared for Class XII (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026 are eligible to apply.
  • Registration fee:
    • Women, SC/ST, PwD candidates → ₹2,000
    • Other candidates → ₹4,000
    • Late fee of ₹500 allowed up to 5 pm on 7 November 2025.
